Hello friends and family,
What a beautiful day it was this past Saturday. We had gorgeous spring weather here in SC. high sixties and a beautiful blue sky with white puffy clouds. The weather couldn't have been more perfect.
Saturday was my towns annual Yard Sale. The town cordons off a few blocks of a long street and all the shops and individual people bring their wares to sell. I don't think I wanted to go so much for buying things as I was longing for a nice morning out, walking and talking to people. The town yard sale provided both and a few treasures I happened to find..
This little beauty was found on a table a woman had set up that read, "offer anything". That was the table for me. It needs some work but we'll get her fixed up.
As we walked there was a lot of things I wouldn't bother with. Mostly a lot of people cleaning out what looked like their basements trying to get rid of stuff but then, I came across an interesting woman. She was from South Africa and had emigrated here a year ago. I would say she was approximately in her seventies and she had old books that belonged to her parents that when she came here she brought with her and didn't know what to do with them.
None of these books will be a gold mind but the book lover in me couldn't resist. The first set is Kipling from 1896 and the second one also Kipling from 1897
This is Shakespeare's Stories of the English Kings the 1924 Edition
Afterwards, we had a couple errands to run and then decided to go to one of the local nurseries. My birthday was on Sunday the 18th and I wanted a few trees for a while now and what better excuse to buy them than my birthday? I'll share those with you this week.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
